Ferozepur, July 21, 2025: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today inducted the old Akali family of Harcharan Singh Hero, who later also served as President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, into the SAD with the late leader’s son Harpreet Singh Hero being made the Halqa Incharge of this constituency by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal at a massive political conference in Makhu.
Sukhbir said Harpreet Singh Hero, who is a prominent farmer leader and social activist, would be an asset to the party in the region and termed the Hero family’s comeback to the SAD as a homecoming.
Urging Punjabis to unite under the SAD banner, Sukhbir said that SAD has suffered due to the intense defamatory campaign carried out against us by both the Congress and AAP. He said the truth was now finally coming out with few senior Congress leaders admitting that party had done politics on the issue of sacrilege.
Senior leader Janmeja Singh Sekhon while speaking on the occasion, referred to the SAD president as “Vikas da Maseeha”. He urged the people to compare the massive development done by the SAD governments from 2007 to 2017 with the utter failure of both the subsequent Congress and AAP governments on all fronts.
Senior leaders Joginder Singh Jindu, Mantar Singh Brar, Parambans Singh Romana, Satpal Singh Talwandi, Darshan Singh Sherkhan, Pritam Singh Malsian, Gurmeet Singh Booh, and youth leaders Chitbir Singh Zira and Surinder Singh Babbu were also present on the occasion.
