S. Srinivas joins as General Manager of RCF Kapurthala

Kapurthala, November 1, 2023: S. Srinivas has joined as General Manager Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala on October 31. He belongs to 1986 Batch of Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers.  He did B. Tech from Andhra University and M. Tech. in IIT/Kharagpur.  

S. Srinivas, has more than 30 years of service in Indian Railways.  He has worked in various capacities in various Zonal Railways, Production Units and in RDSO.  At RDSO, he was instrumental in converting GTO based propulsion to IGBT based propulsion on EMD Locomotives.

He has extensive experience in dealing with International consultancy firms in structural and interior design of coaches and has formulated many specifications for rolling stock including Aluminum Car body coaches.  He has played a vital role in design and development of Vande Bharat trains in 2017-18 and again has played a major role in design improvement and series production of Vande Bharat trains.  His systematic planning and meticulous follow up has led to manufacture of 40+ Vande Bharat Rakes in a short span of time.

 He has played a vital role in prestigious projects like Air-conditioned EMUs, Air-conditioned Metro trains for Kolkata, Export coaches for Sri Lanka and Nepal, and Vistadome Coaches.  His contribution in design and manufacture of coaches for export has led to IR bagging repeated orders.

S. Srinivas, has worked as Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer in ICF Chennai, South East Central Railway and Southern Railway before taking over as General Manager of RCF. In his illustrious career in Railways, he has received many awards like Railway Minister Award for two times and numerous awards at GM’s level.  He has travelled various parts of world in his official capacity for development and export of rolling stock.
