A Rs.150 crore super specialty hospital in Medical College Tanda, near Dharamsala, on Saturday being inaugurated.

Dharamsala, March 1, 2014: A Rs.150 crore super specialty hospital in Medical College Tanda, near Dharamsala, was inaugurated on Saturday by Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad through Himachal Pradesh Food Minister GS Bali, vide video conferencing. Both Azad and CM Himachal Vir Bhadra Singh could not reach Tanda from Mandi (Himachal) due to extremely bad weather.

Azad was at Mandi to inaugurate Cancer Hospital there. The super specialty hospital in Tanda shall have the capacity of 210 beds for patents of heart, kidney, cancer, diabetes and gastro ailments. All these units will start in next three months. In his video massage Azad said that this hospital will benefit people of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and J&K too. Azad promised one Medical college each for Chamba and Nahan in Himachal Pradesh. “The work on these medical collages shall start soon, and the project will cost 190 crore,” Gulam added.

On this occasion, GS Bali said that the central government has reduced the Himachali share to 10% from 25% on the upcoming Medical projects in the state.
