Rs 106.12 crore released as IGST refunds during Dec 2019 by Customs Department Ludhiana

Ludhiana: The Customs Commissionerate, Ludhiana released IGST refunds claims amounting to Rs 106.12 Crore, during the month of December 2019.  
 
Rs 106.12 Crore belongs to 2535 Shipping Bills of exporters and these funds were rolled out till 31 December 2019.  Earlier, during the Month of November 2019, IGST Scrolls for 2997 Shipping Bills were generated.  IGST refunds for 4745 shipping Bills were pending till 30.11.2019 due to various errors and the same was uploaded on the Custom Commissionerate website for wider awareness for exporter’s knowledge and for doing the needful for getting their refunds.
 
A joint working group, under the guidance of Shri A S Ranga, IRS, Commissioner, Customs Commissionerate Ludhiana was earlier constituted to support the export fraternity and to address their issues related to Customs & IGST. The Joint Working Group/ Committee includes senior officials from Customs Department and trade representatives from trade promotion bodies like:  Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) & Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU), as its Committee Members. Fortnightly meeting of this Joint Working Group are already being organised for past couple(s) of month(s) and exporter’s key issues are being discussed & addressed on priority with an intent to facilitate exports from the region.  

Further, exporters from Ludhiana and surrounding areas may get in touch with FIEO Punjab Chapter for their IGST & Customs related issues concerned with ICD Ludhiana, which will be further taken up during the Joint Working Group meetings for favourable outcome.
