Chandigarh, April 7, 2024: The four day 'Round Square Conference' at  Vivek High School(VHS), Sec 38, Chandigarh has concluded with colourful  cultural performances by the participating students. Apart from Indian students foreign students also showcased their culture in the form of dance presentations.

The international conference witnessed a participation of 167 student delegates and 28 adult delegates from across India and the world. School students from countries like Tanzania, Kenya, Dubai and Denmark are taking part. There were as many as 5 foreign schools whose students  arrived in Chandigarh for the mega conference and 21 Indian schools from across the country also sent their students.

Renu Puri, Principal, Vivek High School -38 said, “The theme of the conference was ‘Self-Empowerment – Discover More’. There were keynote speakers and story-telling sessions with a focus on various themes of ‘Wabi Sabi’ – which is a Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfections. A conference statement was also issued on the concluding day.”

The highlight of the event was an  address by Vikram Agnihotri - the only Indian bilateral upper limb amputee to have been issued a permanent driving license for driving a car with his feet.

There was an activity in a forest area promoting mindfulness and reconnecting with nature while harnessing one’s strengths. Karma Yeshe led this activity while Rituparna Ghosh took the session on storytelling in the hills.

Renu Puri concluded that the essence of the conference was self-acceptance, self-enrichment and self-empowerment. By accepting our flaws and perceived imperfections, we strengthen our spiritual and emotional well-being. Our challenges and experiences help us have a better understanding of ourselves and the world around  us, making us more resilient and self aware.
