Rotary Club Greater Ludhiana organises morning with underprivileged children to celebrate Independence Day.
Ludhiana, August 12, 2014: Rotary Club Greater Ludhiana organised a morning with underprivileged children to celebrate Independence Day. President of the club Amanpreet Singh Arora told that 125 kids from an underprivileged school situated in Sunet were taken to Hotel Hyatt Regency at Ludhiana. First of all these kids were shown a small documentary on how India got Independence. National flag was painted on the faces and hands of the kids. After that Assistant District Secretary Dr Sanjeev Uppal played a quiz with the kids.
Few questions were asked about the Independence Day and prizes were distributed. Arora told that after that it was a movie time. Kids enjoyed watching movie (ICE Age) along with popcorns. After the movie a lot of fun games were arranged for them followed by dance and masti.
Assistant Governor Rajanbir Singh Thind told that special food was prepared by the team of Hyatt Regency which contained tri coloured sandwiches, pizza, fruits, ice creams, juices, etc. Club Secretary Dr. Bharti Uppal along with other members of the club Gagandeep Kaur, Jaswinder Singh Raja, Amarpal Singh, Dr. Amit Khurana, Dr Ashish Ahuja distributed gifts to the kids.
President, Amanpreet Singh Arora said that motive behind this event was to create happiness in these kids. These kids can never think about going to these kind of places, it is a merely dream for them. Our club has organised this event to give few happy moments to them.
General Manager of Hyatt Regency, Glen Peat said that their team is quite happy to throw such party for these kids on the occasion of Independence day. He also thanked Rotary Club Ludhiana Greater for arranging it.
