Rotaract Club of PCM S.D. College for Women holds Oath Ceremony in line with ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ Campaign’

Jalandhar, October 08, 2025: The Rotaract Club of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, organized an Oath ceremony on ‘Swachhta’ in the college premises as part of the nationwide initiative ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ campaign. 

The programme was conducted with the purpose of instilling in the students and faculty a strong sense of responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness and contributing to the vision of a cleaner and greener India.

The event commenced with a brief introduction to the objectives of the ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ campaign, highlighting the importance of cleanliness not only in our surroundings but also as a reflection of discipline, civic sense, and holistic well-being. Members of the Rotaract Club took the lead in coordinating the programme and ensured enthusiastic participation from the students.

The highlight of the ceremony was the collective oath-taking session, wherein the students, faculty, and Rotaract members pledged to uphold the principles of cleanliness in their daily lives. They vowed to spread awareness regarding hygiene, avoid single-use plastics, and actively participate in cleanliness drives both within and beyond the campus. The spirit of patriotism and civic duty resonated through the gathering, making the occasion highly impactful.

In her address, Principal Dr Pooja Prashar motivated the students to view cleanliness as an ethical and social responsibility rather than a mere duty. She further emphasized the role of young women in shaping a cleaner and healthier society.

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Dr Pooja Prashar felicitated the endeavours of the Rotaract Club and its Incharges, Kawaljit Kaur and Seema Tiwari as well as other members for holding the activity rooted in social responsibility, environmental awareness, and civic engagement among students. Their constant support, visionary leadership, and commitment to holistic education have made such initiatives possible, thereby contributing to the institution’s standing as a centre of excellence in both academics and community service.
