Rohtak, August 7, 2026: It is a matter of great pride for Rohtak district that the NIPUN Vatika, conceptualized and developed under the leadership and guidance of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Narendra Kumar, has been adopted by the Government of Haryana as the reference model for the entire state. Inspired by its success, the state government has directed all districts to develop Model Bal Vatikas on the same lines.
ADC Narendra Kumar said that, as per the guidelines issued by the Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojana Parishad (HSSPP), every district will constitute a district-level committee to develop one Model Bal Vatika. Rohtak’s NIPUN Vatika will serve as the base model for these initiatives, with the objective of creating modern, attractive, and child-friendly learning environments for young children across Haryana.
He further informed that Rohtak’s NIPUN Vatika had earlier been visited by the Governor of Haryana, Aseem Kumar Ghosh, and the Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda. Both dignitaries appreciated the innovation and described it as an outstanding initiative in the field of Early Childhood Education. The decision to replicate this model across the state reflects the innovative vision and quality work undertaken by Rohtak district.
ADC Narendra Kumar emphasized that a Bal Vatika is not merely a beautifully designed classroom but a strong foundation for the holistic development of children. An engaging, activity-based, and print-rich learning environment fosters curiosity, enthusiasm for learning, and a positive attitude towards school. Such an environment enables children to learn through play while promoting their language, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
He added that the objective of the Model Bal Vatika is to provide every child with a learning environment where they can explore freely, discover new ideas, and build a strong foundation for their early education in a joyful manner. Modern teaching-learning materials, attractive learning corners, activity-based pedagogy, and child-centric classroom arrangements will play a significant role in improving students’ learning outcomes.
ADC Narendra Kumar further stated that, in accordance with the state government’s directions, officials and teachers from other districts will be able to visit Rohtak’s NIPUN Vatika whenever required to study its design, layout, and teaching practices. This will help them effectively adopt its best features in their respective districts.
He expressed confidence that this initiative will prove to be a significant step towards achieving the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the NIPUN Bharat Mission. It will also serve as a milestone in ensuring quality, joyful, and inspiring early childhood education for every child in Haryana. The innovative model developed by Rohtak is now set to provide a new direction for early childhood education across the state.
