Robotic Precision, Better Mobility: New Hope for Knee Pain Patients

Rohtak, August 21, 2026: Persistent knee and hip pain can affect not only physical mobility but also everyday activities and overall quality of life. To raise awareness about modern joint replacement options and robotic-assisted surgery, an awareness session was organised in Rohtak, where Dr Rajiv Verma, a specialist in robotic surgery and sports injuries, highlighted the importance of joint health, timely diagnosis and advanced treatment options.

Dr Verma said knee and hip pain should not simply be accepted as an inevitable part of ageing. People experiencing persistent pain, stiffness or difficulty in movement should seek timely medical advice. Based on proper evaluation, doctors can determine whether medication, physiotherapy or surgery is the most appropriate treatment.

Discussing osteoarthritis, he said the condition gradually damages the cartilage that supports the joints, resulting in pain, stiffness and reduced mobility. While it is more common with advancing age, factors such as obesity, previous injuries, sports-related injuries and genetic predisposition can also lead to the condition at a younger age. When symptoms become severe and begin to interfere with daily activities, knee or hip replacement may become a treatment option.

Dr Verma explained that robotic-assisted total knee replacement (TKR) can facilitate more precise pre-surgical planning and greater accuracy during the procedure. However, he stressed that robotic technology is not necessary for every patient and that the choice of treatment should be based on the individual’s condition and assessment by a specialist.

He added that modern joint replacement procedures, including hip replacement, aim to relieve pain and help patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life.

The awareness programme focused on encouraging people to recognise joint-related symptoms early and seek appropriate medical advice rather than allowing persistent pain and restricted mobility to become a part of everyday life.
