Road cut near Jawaddi Bridge opened for vehicular traffic

Ludhiana, April 11, 2022: For the welfare of residents, Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi today ensured the opening of the road cut on Southern Byepass along Sidhwan Canal (near Jawaddi bridge), here. He was accompanied by a large number of area residents, who thanked the MLA for fulfilling their long pending demand.

MLA Gogi said that a large number of residents residing in areas such as Jawaddi, Canal Avenue etc had to travel a long distance for making a U-turn and had been demanding for a long time regarding the opening of this road cut. He said that earlier, a person traveling on the Southern Byepass and coming from Ferozepur Road side had to go all the way up to Dugri for making a u-turn towards Jawaddi and other adjoining areas.

He said so keeping in mind that area residents are not inconvenienced, this road cut has been opened. He also urged the commuters to not overspeed on any road in the city as it leads to accidents.

He said that to ensure accidents don’t take place with the opening of this road cut, the MC officials have been asked to construct speed breakers on both sides of the road, besides the traffic police has been directed to depute a traffic police personnel at this cut permanently. 

He said that he, along with MC officials, traffic police personnel as well as traffic experts, would study current traffic management plan and adjustments would be made for the welfare of residents.
