Patna, Aug 10 (IANS) Amid the ongoing turmoil within the RJD, a photograph of Maner MLA and senior party leader Bhai Virendra with Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has gone viral on social media, triggering political speculation.

Clarifying the photograph, Bhai Virendra said the image was taken nearly two months ago and has no political significance.

He questioned why a meeting between an MLA and the Chief Minister should be viewed as unusual.

Bhai Virendra said that Samrat Choudhary is the Chief Minister of Bihar, while he is an MLA, and that elected representatives routinely meet ministers and other government functionaries regarding development-related matters in their constituencies.

He also explained that there was a family connection involved, stating that Samrat Choudhary's sister's wedding was in Rohtas and the people associated with the event were relatives.

The RJD MLA further pointed out that the photograph being circulated was old, saying that he had recently shaved his head, whereas he can be seen with hair in the viral picture.

Bhai Virendra added that several RJD leaders meet Samrat Chaudhary for constituency-related work and that such meetings should not automatically be interpreted as political alignments.

However, when journalists questioned him about the expected changes in the RJD organisation following the dissolution of all party units, Bhai Virendra chose not to comment and left the spot.

The photograph has surfaced at a politically sensitive time for the RJD.

Bhai Virendra had recently openly criticised some leaders close to Tejashwi Yadav, including making allegations of money being demanded in Tejashwi's name.

He especially targeted Shakti Singh Yadav, the chief spokesperson of the RJD, and said that he would expose him.

Subsequently, RJD State president Mangni Lal Mandal dissolved the party's state, district, block and panchayat-level units and announced plans to constitute a new organisational team.

Bhai Virendra is a five-time MLA from Maner Assembly constituency.
