Review Meeting Held under Mission JEEVNI to Strengthen Care of High-Risk Pregnancies
A review meeting under Mission JEEVNI was held on 18.09.26 under the chairmanship of Officer on Special Duty (Urban Affairs) Dr. Pragati Rani, IAS, to review the progress of ongoing efforts to reduce maternal mortality and strengthen care for High-Risk Pregnancies (HRPs) in the district. The Civil Surgeon, Deputy Medical Commissioner, Representative of ZLA and Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) attended the meeting.

Ludhiana, September 18, 2026: A review meeting under Mission JEEVNI was held on 18.09.26 under the chairmanship of Officer on Special Duty (Urban Affairs) Dr. Pragati Rani, IAS, to review the progress of ongoing efforts to reduce maternal mortality and strengthen care for High-Risk Pregnancies (HRPs) in the district. The Civil Surgeon, Deputy Medical Commissioner, Representative of ZLA and Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) attended the meeting.
Emphasis was laid on spreading awareness among patients and their families about High-Risk Pregnancies, with informative posters to be displayed in hospitals.
Discussion regarding antenatal camps to be organised in areas where the need is greater.
The preparedness of health facilities for blood requirements was reviewed, and it was noted that blood donation camps are being organised actively. SMOs were asked to coordinate with the Red Cross Society to ensure that requirements are met.
The facility of the 104 State helpline number for ambulance services was also discussed, along with how its effective use can help ensure timely transport and better care for expectant mothers.
The administration stressed the importance of holding Maternal Death Review (MDR) meetings regularly and carrying out active follow-ups to make the process more effective.
The meeting also took note of the AYUSYNK device, an AI-based risk analysis device that supports early detection of risks, including heart-related risks, during the early stages of pregnancy. The devices have been provided to Community Health Officers (CHOs), with one device for every block, and the CHOs have been asked to report on how effectively the device is being used and how helpful it has proved.
