Results of 44th Annual Athletic Meet of Ramgarhia Girls College Ludhiana

Ludhiana, February 26, 2014: 44th Annual Athletic Meet of Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana was held on Wednesday. Onkar Singh Pahwa, Chairman, Avon Cycles Ltd, Ludhiana presided over the occasion as Chief Guest and S. Balbir Singh Grewal, Hockey Olympian, as the Guest of Honour.
Ranjodh Singh, President, Ramgarhia Educational Council, Jagtar Singh, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council and Dr. Narinder Sandhu, Principal, Ramgarhia Girls College welcomed the guests on the occasion. The esteemed guests unfurled the flag and took the salute from the march past. Almost 250 students participated in the event. The participants of every team were divided into players and non-players. The list of events of the day included 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 Meter Race, Long Jump, High Jump, Discuss Throw, Javelin Throw, Shot Put, 4*100 Meter Relay. Recreational events like Trolley Race, Spoon and Potato Race, Three legged Race, Chatti Race, Skipping on the Spot, Sack Race and Musical Chairs for the guests were also held. Jaskaran Kaur of B. A I was adjudged the Best Athlete. On the occasion, the students also performed Gatka.
The President of Ramgarhia Education Council, Ranjodh Singh expressed great happiness on witnessing the brilliant show put up by the players as well as the non-players.
Balbir Singh Grewal, Hockey Olympian gave away the prizes to the winning students.
Onkar Singh Pahwa congratulated the prize winners and inspired those who could not win by asking them to practise harder in future.
Principal Dr. Narinder Sandhu felicitated the organisers of the Sports Meet, Dr. Jasbir Brar (Head of the Department of Physical Education), Rajeshwarpal Kaur and Jasbir Kaur Gill whose untiring efforts made the function a success. Jagtar Singh thanked the worthy guests for sparing their valuable time.
