The Jalandhar Parliamentary by-poll is scheduled for May 10, 2023, and all the political parties are gearing up for a win. The voters of Jalandhar will decide which political party will face Waterloo in the election, and the results will be announced on May 13, 2023, after the counting of votes.

Except for the Congress Party, which has announced its candidate, Smt Karamjit Kaur, wife of Late Santokh Singh Chaudhary M.P., the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have recently announced candidates who have just joined their respective parties. Senior politicians have been switching parties, making it difficult for voters to decide whom to vote for.

In the Parliament Elections, voters usually consider the party first and then the candidate. However, with five-corner contests in this by-poll, the division of votes among candidates' vote percentages will predict the future of political parties in the 2024 Parliament Elections regarding the Pre-Poll Alliances.

The Congress Party is hopeful of securing a big victory with their candidate Karamjit Kaur due to their stronghold in Doaba. Congress leaders are confident that they can secure sympathy votes that can sail their candidate towards victory. They have been using mass contact programs and silent communication with voters, which seem to be more impressive than the other parties' campaigns.

The BJP, in power at the Center for the past nine years, is contesting the parliamentary election in Jalandhar for the first time on its own symbol of a Lotus. They have announced Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal as their candidate, and their leaders are carrying out a series of public meetings, nukkad meetings, and roadshows to woo voters. They are hopeful that their candidate will win and make history.

The AAP leaders are working hard to achieve their goal of a win, and even the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann, is taking full interest in this by-poll to ensure victory. They are confident that their implementation of social policies will appeal to voters. Winning this by-poll is a must for AAP as they lost the Parliamentary seat of Sangrur by-election after winning the Punjab Assembly Polls.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) – Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Alliance candidate Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi is also hopeful that the sudden demise of S.A.D. (B) senior Leader & Former Chief Minister Punjab Parkash Singh Badal will bring a sympathy wave in their favour.

The result of this Jalandhar Parliamentary by-poll will certainly reflect on the future theory of alliance in the coming months. Senior leaders of various political parties will try to find out the new mechanism to win in the 2024 Parliamentary Elections and decide the future course of the alliance between the political parties to ensure victory. As the wait-and-watch policy by the political leaders cannot be ruled out.

In conclusion, the voters of Jalandhar will decide the fate of the political parties, and the results will have a significant impact on the future of politics in the region.
