Restricts recording or live coverage of defence operations or security forces' movement

In a video message, he assured them that the situation in Ludhiana is completely under control and there is no reason to worry or make rushed decisions to leave. He emphasized that the district administration is fully prepared to support workers and business owners during this time with any help they may need.

Ludhiana, May 9, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Friday, appealed to labourers in Ludhiana not to panic or leave for their hometowns. In a video message, he assured them that the situation in Ludhiana is completely under control and there is no reason to worry or make rushed decisions to leave. He emphasized that the district administration is fully prepared to support workers and business owners during this time with any help they may need.
Jain reiterated that the authorities are closely watching the situation, and a 24/7 control room has been set up to handle any questions or emergencies. He encouraged people to reach out for immediate help by calling 0161-2403100 or the emergency helpline 112. He reassured everyone that Ludhiana is safe and secure, and there is no cause for concern.
In a separate video message, the Deputy Commissioner also requested residents of Ludhiana not to record or share live videos of defence operations or the movements of security forces. He warned that such actions could unintentionally harm national security and that strict action would be taken against those who do so.
For the sake of national safety, he advised all media platforms, news agencies, and social media users to act responsibly and follow existing laws. Specifically, they should avoid sharing real-time coverage, visuals, or information related to defence operations or security force movements.
The Deputy Commissioner also ordered that all government offices in Ludhiana will remain operational on May 10 and 11. He also said that there will be no leaves for all government officials till further orders.
In the evening, the DC also held a meeting with heads of all concerned departments and issued necessary directions.
