Responding swiftly, MC resolves complaints of water contamination in Kot Magal Singh, Janta Nagar and Angad Nagar 

Responding quickly to the complaints of contaminated water supply in a few areas/streets of Kot Mangal Singh, Janta Nagar and Angad Nagar, Municipal Corporation (MC) has repaired the supply lines and potable water supply has been resumed in the areas.

Ludhiana, July 15, 2023: Responding quickly to the complaints of contaminated water supply in a few areas/streets of Kot Mangal Singh, Janta Nagar and Angad Nagar, Municipal Corporation (MC) has repaired the supply lines and potable water supply has been resumed in the areas.

After resolving the complaints, MC Zonal Commissioner conducted inspections in the areas and interacted with the residents to ensure potable water supply on Saturday. 

Working round the clock, the civic body has also repaired two road cave-in sites on ATI road. The civic body officials stated that the road cave-in incidents were recently reported due to laying of underground wires. Brick sewer lines of MC got damaged due to the laying of underground wires and leakage resulted in soil erosion. 
    
The officials stated that water contamination in the above stated areas was also witnessed due to the cave-in incidents and its subsequent effect on the supply lines.

MC Zonal Commissioner Kulpreet Singh stated that soon after receiving the complaints, different MC teams were deputed in the areas to resolve the complaints as per the directions issued by MC Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal.

The road cave-in sites have been repaired by laying concrete slabs so that no such incident is reported in future. The civic body teams worked 24*7 to repair the sites.

Singh further stated that the potable water supply has also been resumed in the above stated areas. They also interacted with the residents on Saturday evening to ensure the same.

CORRECTION 

The sewer and water supply lines at the road cave-in sites on ATI road have been repaired, while it will take around 10 days to open the road portions after taking up the soil compaction work and road repair works in phases.
