Rohtak, September 18, 2026: Research and data-driven policymaking can play a crucial role in building a sustainable and inclusive Haryana, said Pawan K. Chaudhary, Adviser to the Chief Minister in the Department of Foreign Cooperation, Haryana Government.
Chaudhary was speaking at the valedictory session of a 10-day Research Methodology Course organised by the Department of Economics, Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), with sponsorship from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).
Addressing a session on Building a Sustainable and Inclusive Haryana, he highlighted the importance of research, evidence-based policymaking and international collaboration in achieving the Viksit Haryana@2047 vision.
MDU Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal congratulated the participants and urged them to apply the research skills acquired during the course. He stressed the need for familiarity with modern research methods, data analysis and digital tools.
In the final session, Prof. Elumalai Kannan of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, discussed research design, quantitative, qualitative and mixed-method approaches, besides composite index construction.
The course covered literature review, statistical techniques, environmental assessment, digital research tools and academic writing. Course Director Prof. Ramphool Ohlyan welcomed the guests, while organising secretary Dr Komal Malik presented the course report and proposed the vote of thanks.
