Renowned sound designer Tenny shares Sound Design tips with SUPVA students in a 12-day workshop
Students of the Film and Television (FTV) faculty at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) are learning to design sound for films in a 12 day workshop organized by the Audiography department. Renowned sound designer Abhijit Tenny Roy is training the students according to the demands of the film industry.
Rohtak, April 10, 2026: Students of the Film and Television (FTV) faculty at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) are learning to design sound for films in a 12 day workshop organized by the Audiography department. Renowned sound designer Abhijit Tenny Roy is training the students according to the demands of the film industry.
Debashish Ray, HOD of the Audiography Department said that Abhijeet Tenny Roy is known as the sound designer of films like Devdas, Shikara, The Violin Player, G Kutta, and others. He is providing the sixth-semester students of Audiography, Editing, and Direction at SUPVA with knowledge about the technical and creative aspects of sound design, dubbing, and re-recording. The aim of this workshop is to give students practical training and real experience of the film industry so that they can better understand the important role of sound in cinema. Students are getting acquainted with professional techniques and workflows through practical sessions, live demonstrations, and interactive discussions.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that our effort is to bring experts from the film industry to prepare our students as highly skilled professionals. Such workshops prove to be significant in bridging the gap between academic education and the film industry. Our aim is that SUPVA students, through their work, make a name for the university and the state not only in India but also abroad. VC Dr. Arya said that SUPVA is a unique university of its kind, so it is our responsibility to make ourselves better every time. Our students, after completing their studies here, fully establish themselves in the film industry; this is why such workshops are held from time to time. Through such workshops, students get practical knowledge about industry demands, techniques, and other aspects during the course of their studies.
FC Mahesh TP of FTV faculty informed that Abhijeet Tenny Roy, who is conducting the workshop, is a former student of FTII, Pune. He has worked with renowned figures of the Indian film industry including Ilaiyaraaja, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rituparno Ghosh, A.R. Rahman, Ismail Darbar, Anu Malik, Pritam, and others. Recently, he received the Filmfare Award for his sound design in 'Manik Babur Megh'. Tenny is an expert in film sound design, mixing, music recording, mastering, live sound engineering, and audio engineering, with over 25 years of experience.
