Ludhiana, September 16, 2018: A regional level conference of critical care physicians was held at Ludhiana today. Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana in association with Punjab chapter of Indian society of critical care medicine and Ludhiana society of critical care medicine, organized the conference.
More than hundred medical professionals from North India participated in this event.Intensive care unit (ICU) is now becoming a place for integration of various specialists for the better outcome of critically ill patient. Our theme is addressing towards the challenges we face in our day today practice of managing sick patients in ICU.A specific emphasis was given to find ways to bridge growing gap between patients and doctors.
Dr Jagdev Singh Sekhon, Director Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana inaugurated this update. Dr Manoj Kumar Sobti, PMC member, Dr P.L Gautam, Chairman Punjab chapter of ISCCM, Dr Amit Mandal, Secretary Punjab chapter of ISCCM, Dr Gurpreet Singh, Secretary LSCCM and Dr HS Pannu, Director Internal medicineat Fortis Hospital, were the among the eminent guests, who graced the occasion.
Talking on the occasion, Dr Jagdev Singh Sekhon applauded that this type of conference being done in Ludhiana and stressed that it will help in managing more patients requiring critical care.
Dr Vinay Singhal, who was also the organizing chairperson of event said that along with challenges faces by intensivist to treat the patients, dealing with the family is also equally important, so that everyone is well informed about the condition of the patient and possible outcomes so that the violent incidents at healthcare centers may be reduced and age old bond between doctors and society may get rekindled.
Dr Manoj Kumar Sobti also said that these kinds of activities would enlighten our medical fraternity about the advancement occurring in the field of critical care. We firmly believe that this endeavor of Fortis Hospital and Punjab and Ludhiana Critical care society will be another step forward in rededicating ourselves to continue serving our patients effectively.
Mr.Vivan Singh Gill, Facility director at Fortis hospital Ludhiana applauded this type of conference being done here. He pledged his whole heart support and offered that any such academic activity will always be supported by the hospital in future also. Dr Sumeet Kumar Jhingan, Organizing Secretary for the conference thanked all the participants, who had taken the time out of their busy schedule and also to the faculty who presented and interacted with the delegates.
