Red Run Marathon organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College
Under the aegis of Directorate of Youth Services, Chandigarh & Punjab State AIDS Control Society, Youth Services, Jalandhar in collaboration with NSS Unit, Red Ribbon Club & Dept of Physical Education & Sports, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized District Level Red Run (Marathon) of Red Ribbon Clubs of Jalandhar District in the college ground.
Jalandhar, August 7, 2026: Under the aegis of Directorate of Youth Services, Chandigarh & Punjab State AIDS Control Society, Youth Services, Jalandhar in collaboration with NSS Unit, Red Ribbon Club & Dept of Physical Education & Sports, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized District Level Red Run (Marathon) of Red Ribbon Clubs of Jalandhar District in the college ground.
The aim of the Red Run was to spread awareness regarding HIV/AIDS.
Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu in his address stated that comprehensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS in India among adults is less than 30% which needs to be increased through these mass events by involving youth. He advised the students to maintain a healthy lifestyle and engage one's self in physical activities.
Dr. Jaswant Kaur & Mr. Ravi Dara, Assistant Director, Youth Services Jalandhar flagged off the marathon . LKC Red Ribbon Club Coordinator, Prof. Satpal Singh informed that a total 50 male and female athletes of various colleges of Jalandhar participated in this run. He added that participants were also sensitized about HIV/AIDS.
During the race, in the boys category, Paramjit Singh, Kundan and Supandeep secured 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions respectively. In the girls category, Vandna, Namneet, Saina won 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions respectively.
Ravi Dara congratulated all the participants and informed that winners will compete at the state level soon. T-shirts were given to all the participants.
During the event, Red Ribbon club members of the college actively volunteered their services.
