RCF Kapurthala conducts Special Campaign 5.0 with remarkable achievements

Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala  successfully concluded the main phase of Special Campaign 5.0 on 31st October. The campaign, which commenced on 2nd October, aimed at promoting cleanliness, efficient record management, and timely disposal of pending matters across the Department. RCF achieved significant progress in various focus areas including, review of old records, overall improvement in office management and promoting environmental sustainability across the factory and township.

Kapurthala, November 12, 2025: Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala  successfully concluded the main phase of Special Campaign 5.0 on 31st October. The campaign, which commenced on 2nd October, aimed at promoting cleanliness, efficient record management, and timely disposal of pending matters across the Department. RCF achieved significant progress in various focus areas including, review of old records, overall improvement in office management and promoting environmental sustainability across the factory and township.
As part of the initiative, the IT Department undertook an e-waste management drive, condemning and disposing of 50 obsolete computers. The process generated a revenue of ₹25,000, which was utilized for purchasing new computers.
In the area of record management, a total of 3014 physical files and 980 e-files were reviewed, resulting in 854 physical files being weeded out and 6 e-files closed. All important records were scanned and preserved in digital format. A total of 26 cleanliness campaigns were conducted across different sections of RCF, freeing up 1570 sq. ft. of space through scrap disposal and systematic cleaning.
Further, 201 sites and 51 offices were spruced up, cleaned, and beautified to enhance the experience of visitors and employees. A special drive was organized to promote the use of environment-friendly materials in place of single-use plastics.
Under the “Waste to Wealth” initiative, the Technical Training Centre (TTC) creatively utilized scrap and discarded materials to design and fabricate decorative figures and mannequins. A Tree Plantation Drive was also undertaken in the township area to promote greenery and environmental awareness.
To spread the message of cleanliness and responsible waste management, the RCF Cultural Society performed a Nukkad Natak focusing on maintaining cleanliness at the workplace and campus.
The Special Campaign 5.0 at RCF Kapurthala not only achieved its targets for cleanliness and record management but also demonstrated innovative and sustainable practices, reinforcing RCF’s commitment to a clean and green environment.
