Reaffirming its commitment to the nation's youth and sporting excellence, Rayat Bahra Professional University (RBPU), Hoshiarpur, successfully organized the MY Bharat – National Sports Day 2026 “Khelo India Samvaad” Programme on Thursday.

Reaffirming its commitment to the nation's youth and sporting excellence, Rayat Bahra Professional University (RBPU), Hoshiarpur, successfully organized the MY Bharat – National Sports Day 2026 “Khelo India Samvaad” Programme on Thursday.

The event was organized by Rayat Bahra Professional University under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. The gathering comprised NSS volunteers, university students, faculty, and young sportspersons. The occasion was graced by former MP Avinash Rai Khanna, Vice Chancellor Dr. Chandermohan, Deputy Director (My Bharat) Jasleen Kaur, and NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Pallavi Pandit.

The flagship “Khelo India Samvaad” programme featured a live virtual address by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The initiative emphasized the adoption of sports as a way of life. A key highlight was the "Nasha Chhodo, Khelon Ko Apnao" (Say No to Drugs, Adopt Sports) campaign led by Dr. Pallavi Pandit. The university also honored young achievers from Rayat Bahra International School and the University School of Physical Education for their sporting talent.

The programme was held on Thursday, coinciding with the National Sports Day celebrations, at the Rayat Bahra Professional University campus in Hoshiarpur, Punjab.

The primary objective was to encourage youth participation in sports, physical fitness, discipline, and healthy lifestyles. The dialogue aimed to inspire students to stay away from substance abuse and contribute to nation-building through the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

The programme was conducted through a blend of virtual and physical interactions. Distinguished guest of honour, 18-year-old Judo player Prince from Bulandshahr, shared his experiences. Experts and dignitaries discussed crucial aspects of sports infrastructure, training, sports science, nutrition, technology, and international exposure for young athletes. The proceedings were efficiently anchored by Dr. Jyotsna, Dean, University School of Sciences. The event concluded with the Viksit Bharat pledge, the National Anthem, and a group photograph, showcasing the university's dedication to youth empowerment.
