The International Women's Day celebrations on the DAVIET campus were a grand success. The event was organized in collaboration with Rashmi's Nimantran Events and Rotary Club Jalandhar Eco, powered by Bhargava Hospital Jalandhar and Leo Institute Jalandhar, and sponsored by Malabar Gold and Diamonds.

Jalandhar, March 10, 2023: The International Women's Day celebrations on the DAVIET campus were a grand success. The event was organized in collaboration with Rashmi's Nimantran Events and Rotary Club Jalandhar Eco, powered by Bhargava Hospital Jalandhar and Leo Institute Jalandhar, and sponsored by Malabar Gold and Diamonds.

The gala event witnessed the Influential Women Awards 2023, with guests of honour Mamta Bahl, Sandhya Dewan and Jyotsna Sharma.

Dr Sanjeev Naval, the Principal (O) of the institute, highlighted the importance of women's empowerment, acknowledging their significant contribution to society's development. He expressed that women play an essential role in the development of society and excel in multitasking. He emphasized that women should have equal opportunities and support to realize their potential. Dr. Naval's views on women's empowerment aligned with the global movement towards gender equality and women's empowerment. He recognized the importance of women's contributions to various fields, including education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. He shared that gender discrimination has led to the underrepresentation of women in leadership positions and that women must be encouraged and supported to reach these positions.
 
Dr Megha Munjal Sharma, the Nodal Officer of the Gender Sensitization Cell at the DAVIET Institute, emphasized the need for women's equality during the International Women's Day Celebrations held on the campus. She stated that if given equal opportunities, women can outperform men; therefore, there is a need to remove the barriers and biases that hold them back. She recognized that women had been historically discriminated against and subjected to stereotypes and prejudices that limited their opportunities and restricted their potential. She highlighted that achieving gender equality requires concerted efforts to eliminate gender biases, promote women's leadership, and provide equal opportunities and support for women to succeed.

The event saw several women achievers awarded for their significant contributions to their respective fields.
