Rangoli Competition on the theme “Swarnim Bharat- Virasat aur Vikas” in celebration of Diwali by Department of Zoology, Panjab University
The Department of Zoology, Panjab University, organised Rangoli Competition on the theme “Swarnim Bharat- Virasat aur Vikas” to celebrate Diwali in the department.
Chandigarh, October 17, 2025: The Department of Zoology, Panjab University, organised Rangoli Competition on the theme “Swarnim Bharat- Virasat aur Vikas” to celebrate Diwali in the department.
As many as 130 members celebrated the festival of lights together which included students, Faculty members and Non-teaching staff of the department.The theme conveys that India is a land of timeless heritage and remarkable diversity and is on a journey of dynamic transformation. The concept of “Swarnim Bharat” embodies the vision of harmonising the rich cultural legacy of India (Virasat) with progressive strides in development (Vikas). It celebrates India’s vibrant history, spiritual depth, artistic brilliance and innovative achievements, while envisioning a future of inclusivity, sustainability and global leadership.
A total of six rangoli’s were made by students of B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD research scholars, of which prizes were given to the best three rangoli. The first, second and third prize was received by students of M.Sc. second year, Ph.D. research scholars and B.Sc. first year, respectively. Students put sincere efforts in making the rangoli and explaining every aspect of the theme. The celebration concluded by having sweets and greeting happy diwali to each other.
