Ranga Reddy Risers and Nizam Nawabs register impressive wins

Hyderabad, December 21, 2025: The Telangana Pro Basketball League (TPBL)—the first professional basketball league of its kind in the state and only the second official state-level professional basketball league in India—continued to thrill fans with high-intensity action at the K.V.B.R. Indoor Stadium, Yousufguda, on Saturday night.

In a closely contested encounter, the Nizam Nawabs displayed composure and dominance to defeat the Khammam Knights by 68–53. After a competitive start, the Nawabs gradually asserted control over the game, showcasing disciplined teamwork and strong defensive play to secure the victory.

In the second match of the evening, the Ranga Reddy Risers delivered a commanding performance against the Warangal Warriors, registering an emphatic 80–62 win. The Risers’ aggressive offence and consistent scoring proved decisive as they outpaced their opponents throughout the match.

The league has consistently delivered electrifying performances and a vibrant atmosphere, with fans cheering passionately for their favourite teams. The excitement of watching top-quality basketball live, alongside friends and fellow supporters, has made TPBL Season 1 a memorable sporting experience for spectators.

Currently underway until December 24, Season 1 of TPBL is transforming Hyderabad into the epicentre of elite basketball action. Featuring high-octane matches, intense rivalries, and championship aspirations, the league promises thrilling contests for both fans and players alike.

All matches of the league are being broadcast LIVE, extending Telangana’s basketball revolution to audiences across the region and beyond.

Adding a special touch to the evening, basketball veterans were felicitated and invited to participate in a friendly symbolic match between games, celebrating their contributions to the sport.

TPBL is an exclusive league for players from Telangana, proudly showcasing homegrown talent from across the state. Matches are scheduled daily between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM, ensuring prime-time visibility for fans and broadcasters.

The league is the brainchild of A. Prudhvishwar Reddy, General Secretary of the Telangana Basketball Association and a former Indian national player. Inspired by international professional leagues, TPBL aims to create a structured pathway for young talent while strengthening grassroots basketball across Telangana.
