Ludhiana, September 3, 2019: It is a proud moment for Ramgarhia Girls College, Miller Ganj, Ludhiana as the College welcomed Maulana Abul Kalam Azad trophy in the college campus.
Panjab University, Chandigarh has bagged MAKA Trophy after 13 years and this is the 14th time the university has proudly lifted this.
Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Seceratery, Ramgarhia Educational Council, Principal Dr.Inderjit Kaur accompanied by Dr.Rajeshwarpal Kaur, Head, Department of Physical Education extended a hearty welcome to and the procession.
Addressing the gathering, Dr.Inderjit Kaur said," bagging MAKA Trophy is indeed a cherished moment not only for the University but for the College as well, as the College is one of the participant Colleges. She further added that she would like to term it as a remarkable achievement. This shall have a great impact on the sports enthusiasts.
Parminder Singh Ahluwalia, Directorate of Sports, P.U.Chandigarh said that this will be a great milestone for all the sportspersons. It is a great honour not only for P.U. but for whole of Punjab.
Dr.Rakesh Malik, Deputy Director of Sports, P.U.Chandigarh, congratulated the affiliated colleges, their participants faculty, students and the University Sports Department for their sincere contribution.
The day came to an end with vote of thanks by Gurcharan Singh Lotey.
Meanwhile, Guru Nanak Girls College, Ludhiana also welcomed the prestigious MAKA Trophy for sports with full zeal and enthusiasm. Panjab University, Chandigarh started a procession on winning Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad (MAKA) trophy after 13 years. MAKA trophy is conferred by President of India Ram Nath Kovind on the occasion of National Sports Day at New Delhi on 29 August, 2019. MAKA trophy is lifted by Panjab university, Chandigarh for the best all round performance in sports among Indian university for the year 2018-19. Dr.Charanjit Mahal, Principal Guru Nanak Girls College, welcomed and honoured Dr.Parminder Singh, (Director of Sports), Panjab University, Chandigarh and Dr. Rakesh Malik (Deputy Director of Sports) Panjab University, Chandigarh. Principal Dr.Charanjit Mahal congratulated the PU family, Colleges, staff and sports players for their great efforts and remarkable achievement.
