Ramgarhia Girls College Organises Breastfeeding Awareness Lecture to Mark World Breastfeeding Week
To commemorate World Breastfeeding Week, the NSS Unit of Ramgarhia Girls College, in collaboration with the Department of Home Science, organised a special awareness lecture highlighting the importance of breastfeeding. Members of the Inner Wheel Club also graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. The guests were accorded a warm floral welcome by the college fraternity.

Ludhiana, August 4, 2026: To commemorate World Breastfeeding Week, the NSS Unit of Ramgarhia Girls College, in collaboration with the Department of Home Science, organised a special awareness lecture highlighting the importance of breastfeeding. Members of the Inner Wheel Club also graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. The guests were accorded a warm floral welcome by the college fraternity.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Birinder Kaur Ahuja, MBBS, MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Iqbal Nursing Home, who enlightened the students about the immense significance of breastfeeding and its far-reaching benefits for both mother and child. She emphasised its crucial role in ensuring the healthy physical, emotional, and cognitive development of infants while encouraging students to become well-informed and spread awareness about the importance of breastfeeding in their communities.
Appreciating the initiative, Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur said, “Awareness programmes on vital health issues empower students with scientific knowledge while nurturing a sense of social responsibility. Such initiatives play a significant role in building a healthier society.” She also thanked the keynote speaker and the organising team for making the programme a success. The event was organised under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Prof. Ramandeep Kaur, and Prof. Alka Chauhan, in collaboration with Prof. Harinderjit Kaur of the Department of Home Science. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished guests and participants.
