Ludhiana, March 7, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora, along with MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi and Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, assessed the upgradation works at the local civil hospital on Friday.  

Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Rohit Gupta, Joint Commissioner Ankur Mohindroo, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pradeep Mohindra, and representatives from the Punjab Health Systems Corporation and other involved agencies also attended the review.  

The MP along with MLA, Deputy Commissioner and officials visited various sites where upgrade works have either been completed or are nearing completion. They stated that the renovations include modern operating theatres, a new ophthalmology department, male and female wards, outpatient department (OPD) buildings, an upgraded sewage system, waterproofing, internal and external painting, installation of pavers in parking areas, swings for children in parks, a waiting shed for patients outside the pharmacy, rodent control measures, reinforcement of boundary walls, tiling of all internal walls and bathrooms, ensuring access to potable drinking water, garbage removal, new signage, and the operation of two elevators, all of which have been completed.

The officials instructed representatives from the involved agencies to complete the works of a new big-sized entry gate, enhance landscaping, add more children's swings, and install new fans and lights throughout the hospital. They also told them to complete tiling in the new parking area and remove electric poles near the entrance. 

Furthermore, they directed the agencies to increase the workforce if necessary to expedite the completion of these remaining works by next week, assuring that there would be no shortage of funding. They emphasized that the revamped civil hospital would provide ultra-modern facilities. quality healthcare facilities on par with private health institutions.  

Later, the officials interacted with patients at the hospital to gather feedback. They also reiterated that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to creating a healthy Punjab by providing quality healthcare services, ensuring that no one in the state is deprived of necessary medical treatment.
