Expressing concern over the incident, Dr. Mittal said that every victim deserves to have their voice heard and their case investigated without prejudice. The pursuit of justice must remain impartial and guided solely by facts and the rule of law.
Commenting on the matter, Dr. Mittal said, "The reported Pune Ketan Agarwal case is deeply disturbing. Ketan and his family deserve a fair, thorough, and impartial investigation, and above all, justice."
Highlighting his long-standing commitment to addressing issues affecting men's welfare, Dr. Mittal recalled that he had introduced the National Commission for Men Bill in Parliament with the objective of creating an institutional mechanism to address grievances, provide support, and ensure equal protection under the law for men facing abuse, violence, harassment, or other forms of victimization.
"I introduced the National Commission for Men Bill in Parliament. Every victim deserves justice, support, and equal protection under the law. The Ketan case is a reminder that men, too, can be victims.  They deserve institutional support, legal protection, and a platform where their voices are heard. Justice must be equal for everyone, irrespective of gender," Dr. Mittal stated, reaffirming the principle of equality before the law.
He also noted that conversations around mental health and victim support should be inclusive and acknowledge that emotional distress, abuse, and violence can affect individuals across genders. He stressed that ensuring accessible institutional support and fair legal processes strengthens public confidence in the justice system and reinforces the constitutional principle of equality.
Dr. Mittal further urged that the investigation into the reported case be allowed to proceed independently and objectively so that the truth is established and justice is delivered in accordance with the law.
