Rajasthan govt suspends TMS of 215 private pharmacies

Jaipur, Aug 26 (IANS) The Rajasthan Government has suspended the Transaction Management System (TMS) of 215 private pharmacies empanelled under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) for alleged negligence in medicine distribution.
Officials said the action followed directions from Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar after the pharmacies reportedly remained inactive for nearly two months and failed to provide medicines to beneficiaries.
Principal Government Secretary, Medical and Health, Gayatri Rathore said the RGHS medicine distribution system is being continuously monitored. Pharmacies that failed to provide medicines for an extended period were issued show‑cause notices. While some replies were found unsatisfactory, others did not respond, leading to suspension of their TMS.
Jaipur had the highest number of suspensions, with 39 pharmacies affected. RGHS Project Officer Nidhi Patel said action was taken across several districts, including:
Alwar and Sikar – 20 each
Bharatpur, Churu and Dausa – 10 each
Ajmer – 9
Jhunjhunu and Sri Ganganagar – 8 each
Jodhpur and Kota – 7 each
Hanumangarh and Pali – 6 each
Baran, Kotputli‑Behror and Deeg – 5 each
Khairthal‑Tijara and Tonk – 4 each
Didwana‑Kuchaman, Nagaur and Udaipur – 3 each
Beawar, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dholpur, Jaisalmer, Jalore and Karauli – 2 each
Balotra, Barmer, Bikaner, Jhalawar, Sawai Madhopur and Sirohi – 1 each
Action was also taken against one pharmacy each in Delhi and Gurugram operating outside Rajasthan.
Patel said the objective of RGHS is to ensure timely and hassle‑free access to essential medicines for beneficiaries.
“Any negligence or unnecessary delay in medicine distribution is being treated seriously. Further action will be taken according to the rules after examining clarifications submitted by the concerned pharmacies and reviewing records,” she stated.
The RGHS administration will continue monitoring to ensure medicines remain available to beneficiaries without delays.
