Ludhiana, November 16, 2025: Former Chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board and senior Congress leader Pawan Dewan has said that state Congress president and member of Lok Sabha from Ludhiana Amarinder Singh Raja Warring is the person who has pulled the party out of a very difficult time.
In a statement issued here, Dewan said, “Amarinder Singh Raja Warring is that leader who was entrusted with the presidency of the Punjab Congress Committee after the party’s defeat in 2022. At that time, Congress workers were disappointed and had withdrawn to their homes. It was during this difficult period that Raja Warring ji travelled across every corner of Punjab, met the workers, encouraged them, and motivated them to fight back even stronger.”
By leading protests across the state against the wrong policies of the government, he infused new enthusiasm and energy among the workers. As a result of his hard work, we secured an impressive victory in 7 out of 13 Lok Sabha seats and also won the Barnala by-election. This success was made possible only because of the dedication and efforts of Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring ji.
Today, those who raise questions about Raja Warring ji’s leadership should reflect on this: And now, just because of one statement by the President, you are questioning his leadership.
We all know that by-elections are always advantageous to the ruling party, yet we still won the Barnala by-poll—even after losing the previous three by-elections. Back then, no one questioned the President or issued statements.
Therefore, we humbly request the senior leadership of the Punjab Congress to unite and begin preparations for the 2027 elections so that we can bring the Congress government back to power in Punjab.
