Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala plans to ramp up production of German design, called LHB coaches

Kapurthala, October 9, 2017: Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Kapurthala on the directions of Ministry of Railways is planning to ramp up the production of German design, called LHB coaches which are considered as more safe possessed with anti-topping features, having better passenger amenities and can also run at a speed up to 200Kmp. These coaches are made of stainless steel materials therefore manufacturing techniques and skills are of higher order than mild steel mad up traditional coaches. Therefore to double the production level during the next financial year 2018-19 and further increasing future vendor meets will be organised to meet the material needs for enhancing the production.
A meeting of vendors was organised by RCF Kapurthala today (October 9) in which representatives of industries engaged in business of manufacturing and supplying stainless steel heavy and light fabrication sub-assemblies, assemblies, robber metal bonded items, seats and berths, chairs, lavatories, fittings, interiors, furnishings, lighting, air conditioning, air brake and plumbing items situated in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himahal Pradesh participated in the vendor meet. In this vendor meet more than 170 representatives of industries have participated.

During the address to vendor, Ratan Lal, recently appointed general manager appreciated the contribution of the vendors in developing and supplying the various types of components for the LHB coaches due to which railway is able to introduce various premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabadi, Gatiman Express and further specialised coaches like Tejas, Hamsafar etc.
The general manager (GM) informed the vendors that there is plan to enhance production of LHB coaches manifolds not only at RCF Kapurthala but also at Modern Coach Factory Rae Barely and Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. Therefore, there will be manifold increased requirement of materials not only at RCF Kapurthala but also in these factories also. Since most of the industrial units engaged in the manufacturing of assembles, components are geographically located nearby RCF Kapurthala and Northern India they have a golden opportunity to accept challenge and enhance their business volumes. RCF is ready to provide technical help in deigning, testing of the materials where ever they needed.
Speaking on the occasion, the key speaker Roshan lal Pawar, Principal Chief Materials Manager provided the latest, improved information tools to ensure fair and transparent internet based on line tendering and ordering, placing more developmental orders, long term contracting. He added any seller can register themselves on this portal and put the goods for online sale. He requested the vendors to rise to the occasion and enhance their capabilities to ensure right quality, right time, right price and right time delivery of the materials.
