Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala celebrated its 41st Foundation Day today, marking the completion of 40 years of its establishment. A cultural program was organized at Waris Shah Hall of RCF, presided over by S.S. Mishra, General Manager, Rail Coach Factory, while Madumita Mishra, President, RCF Women Welfare Organisation, graced the occasion as the special guest. A large number of RCF officers, employees, and members of various unions and associations were present.

Kapurthala, August 20, 2025: Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala celebrated its 41st Foundation Day today, marking the completion of 40 years of its establishment. A cultural program was organized at Waris Shah Hall of RCF, presided over by S.S. Mishra, General Manager, Rail Coach Factory, while Madumita Mishra, President, RCF Women Welfare Organisation, graced the occasion as the special guest. A large number of RCF officers, employees, and members of various unions and associations were present.

The program featured several impressive cultural performances, including singing, classical and folk dances, a one-act play, and the screening of a film showcasing the history of RCF.

Addressing the gathering, S.S. Mishra highlighted that the foundation stone of RCF was laid with the aim of introducing new technology in rail coaches, increasing production capacity for Indian Railways, and generating employment for youth. He informed that RCF has manufactured over 47,000 coaches so far, including several world-class models equipped with the latest technology, which have earned global recognition.

Over the past four decades, RCF has consistently enhanced its production capacity, adopted advanced technologies, and diversified its portfolio, producing coaches ranging from MEMU and LHB to Tejas, Double Decker, Narrow Gauge Panoramic Coaches, Vande Metro, and Vande Bharat. Mishra said that the 41st Foundation Day is not just a milestone in time but also a reflection of RCF’s remarkable achievements in modernization, employee dedication, and strategic importance within India’s rail manufacturing system.

He further informed that RCF has been entrusted with several new projects this year, including the prestigious Vande Bharat trainsets, self-propelled accident relief coaches, self-propelled inspection trains, and export coaches for Bangladesh Railways. Work on these projects is currently in progress. He emphasized that with increasing competition, RCF must also focus on manufacturing metro coaches and expanding exports. “RCF is fully capable and prepared for every challenge,” he added, while noting that the factory contributes nearly 25% of the GDP of Kapurthala.
