Quality is a Mirror of Our Work, Mindset, and Commitment: HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan

Nilokheri, April 10, 2026: Quality must serve as the foundation for building a 'Developed India'. It is imperative that quality be accorded top priority—ranging from government operational processes and development projects to industries functioning within the private sector. Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), made these remarks during the valedictory session of a two-day training program for engineers, organized under the joint aegis of the Haryana Quality Assurance Authority and the HIRD. He said that for the ancient Indian concept of 'Yoga Karmasu Kaushalam' (Excellence in Action) to become an integral part of the work culture within the government machinery, the new generation of officers and employees must work with unwavering dedication.

The HIRD Director Dr. Chauhan emphasized that quality assurance is not merely an administrative or technical term; rather, it serves as a mirror reflecting our work, our mindset, and our commitment. Quality assurance implies not just inspecting a specific product or service, but ensuring excellence in every process, from inception to completion. It teaches us to execute whatever task we undertake in the most optimal manner possible. It acts as a powerful catalyst, steering us away from a culture of mediocrity and toward a culture of excellence. When we prioritize quality, not only do the outcomes improve, but public trust is also significantly strengthened.

Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan further noted that by adopting modern technologies, both transparency and quality in operations can be effectively ensured, thereby enabling the general public to access superior facilities. He urged officers to engage in continuous learning amidst today's evolving landscape, enabling them to effectively tackle emerging challenges. He placed particular emphasis on the importance of applying the knowledge acquired during the training sessions to their respective professional domains.

During the event, Vipin Sharma (Technical Head) of the Haryana Quality Assurance Authority was present as a special guest. The primary objective of this workshop was to enhance the operational efficiency of the officers and to provide them with insights into the latest technical and administrative facets of their work. Program Coordinator Dr. Sushil Mehta formally welcomed the Chief Guest by presenting him with a floral bouquet.

Vipin Sharma, Technical Head of the Haryana Quality Assurance Authority, underscored the critical necessity of strictly adhering to quality standards in all administrative operations. He said that for the effective implementation of schemes, continuous monitoring of quality—alongside technical expertise—is essential, as this ensures transparency and maintains trust in development works.

Program Coordinator Dr. Sushil Mehta informed that during this two-day workshop, experts delivered lectures on various technical subjects and provided practical training to the participants, thereby enhancing their professional efficiency. Prominent dignitaries present on the occasion included Sub-Divisional Officer (Panchayati Raj) Rajendra Singh, along with Manish Dahiya, Ishan Kapoor, Shivam, Akshay, Saurav Uppal, and others.
