Panchkula, Aug 9, 2026: The Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust organised its 227th Ann Bhandara (Community Kitchen) in Panchkula's Industrial Area,Phase I, as part of its continued commitment to social service, community welfare and helping people in need.
Renowned social worker Amitabh Rungta, founder of the Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust, said that collective efforts by individuals and organisations can help reduce hunger and strengthen the spirit of humanity in society.
Fresh and nutritious food was served free of cost to needy people, workers, passersby and other members of the public. The initiative was aimed at ensuring that people who may be facing difficulty in arranging a meal could receive food with dignity, while also promoting the values of compassion, sharing and social responsibility.
Rungta further said that feeding a hungry person is one of the simplest yet most meaningful forms of service. He added that initiatives such as Ann Bhandaras' not only provide immediate support to people in need but also encourage a culture of compassion and inspire others to contribute towards the welfare of society.
Members and volunteers of the Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust actively participated in making arrangements for the Bhandara and serving food to the public. The initiative reflected the Trust's continued focus on humanitarian service and community welfare.
