Chandigarh, May 15, 2026: Punjab's aggressive wicketkeeper-batsman, Prabhsimran Singh, has once again brought glory to the Punjab Cricket Association. He has been included in the India-A squad for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) series. Expressing his delight over this significant achievement, Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) President Amarjit Mehta congratulated Prabhsimran and extended his best wishes for the future.
PCA President Amarjit Mehta stated that Prabhsimran's selection marks a moment of immense pride for Punjab cricket. He noted that Prabhsimran is a talented player who has consistently delivered stellar performances throughout the domestic season and in the IPL. His hard work and unwavering dedication to the sport have propelled him to this milestone today. For some time now, Prabhsimran Singh has been one of Punjab's most reliable batsmen in limited-overs cricket. His aggressive batting style distinguishes him as a unique player in the landscape of modern cricket.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced this selection for the upcoming ODI Tri-Series involving Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. On this tour, the India-A team will be led by Tilak Varma, with Riyan Parag serving as the vice-captain. The squad also features 15-year-old Bihar youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has been given a major opportunity by being included in the India-A squad for the very first time. This white-ball series is scheduled to be played in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, in June. Following this, the India-A team will also play red-ball (multi-day) matches against Sri Lanka-A in Galle.
