Punjabi Play ‘Vagde Pani Diyan Leharan Nu Mor’, Written and Directed by Tarlochan Singh, Presented at Punjabi Bhawan
In collaboration with Punjabi Sahit Akademi, Ludhiana, the play ‘Vagde Pani Diyan Leharan Nu Mor’, written and directed by Tarlochan Singh, was presented by Rangnagari (Regd.), Ludhiana at Balraj Sahni Open Air Theatre. The play was dedicated to noted theatre personality Dr. S.N. Sewak.
Ludhiana, June 28, 2026: In collaboration with Punjabi Sahit Akademi, Ludhiana, the play ‘Vagde Pani Diyan Leharan Nu Mor’, written and directed by Tarlochan Singh, was presented by Rangnagari (Regd.), Ludhiana at Balraj Sahni Open Air Theatre. The play was dedicated to noted theatre personality Dr. S.N. Sewak.
On the occasion, Prof. Jagmohan Singh recalled Dr. Sewak’s contributions and shed light on the bond shared between Dr. Sewak’s mother and his own mother. General Secretary of Punjabi Sahit Akademi, Dr. Gulzar Singh Pandher, along with Malkit Singh Aulakh and others, also spoke about the artistic contributions and activities of Dr. Sewak.
Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Sangeet Natak Akademi President Ashwini Jaitley highlighted Dr. Sewak’s immense contribution to theatre and highly praised his commitment towards social concerns. Jaitley suggested establishing a foundation in memory of Dr. S.N. Sewak and also assured all possible support for this initiative.
The audience highly appreciated the outstanding performance of the role of the grandfather played by Tarlochan Singh and the role of the grandson portrayed by Simranjit Kaur. Harmeet Singh (son), Kamaldeep Kaur (daughter-in-law), and Sahil Kapoor, who played the role of Jas, the son’s foreign-returned friend, also received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Tarsem Deogan, Deep Jagdeep Singh, Lalit Beri, Ashwini Jaitley, Sarabjit Ludhianvi, Amandeep Cheema, Kanwal Lotey, Surinderpal Singh Hundal Hawas, and Kuljot Singh were also present on the occasion.
