Punjabi Film Ishqnamaa Generates Buzz; Jayy Randhawa and Shehnaaz Gill to Share Screen for the First Time

Chandigarh, June 15, 2026: The teaser of the much-awaited Punjabi film Ishqnamaa was unveiled on Monday at a grand event held at Novotel Chandigarh , creating significant excitement among Punjabi cinema enthusiasts. Since the teaser launch, the film has become a major talking point, with audiences eagerly awaiting its release. One of the biggest highlights of the project is the first-ever on-screen pairing of actor Jayy Randhawa and actress Shehnaaz Gill.
Speaking to the media during the event, Jayy Randhawa, Shehnaaz Gill, Saurabh Sachdeva, Anjum Batra, Nirmal Rishi, Dheeraj Rattan and filmmaker Arvinder Singh Khaira described Ishqnamaa as a powerful blend of action, romance and emotions, inspired by true love and real-life events.
In the film, Jayy Randhawa plays the role of “Nimma,” while Shehnaaz Gill essays the character of “Nazima.” To bring authenticity to his role, Jai underwent an extensive physical transformation and rigorous training regimen. The film has been attracting attention since its production phase and is expected to present the actor in a completely new avatar.
During the shoot of one of the film’s high-risk action sequences, Jayy Randhawa suffered an accident, highlighting his dedication and commitment to the project. Despite the setback, he continued filming and completed the shoot with remarkable determination.
Mounted on a grand scale with an expansive cinematic canvas, Ishqnamaa has been shot across various locations in Punjab as well as several picturesque destinations in Rajasthan. Following the release of Badnaam in 2025, this will be Jayy Randhawa’s first Punjabi film release of 2026.
Scheduled for a worldwide release on July 24, Ishqnamaa has already generated considerable anticipation thanks to its teaser. With its mix of romance, music and high-octane action, the film is expected to offer a memorable cinematic experience for Punjabi movie lovers across the globe.
