Punjab State Food Commission Chairman Bal Mukand Sharma visits dream home of "manukhta di sewa" organization in Hasanpur
Punjab State Food Commission Chairman Bal Mukand Sharma, along with officials from the Social Security Department under the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, visited the “Supneya Da Ghar” of Gurpreet Singh Mintu, who runs the manukhta di sewa organization in village Hasanpur, Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, November 14, 2025: Punjab State Food Commission Chairman Bal Mukand Sharma, along with officials from the Social Security Department under the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, visited the “Supneya Da Ghar” of Gurpreet Singh Mintu, who runs the manukhta di sewa organization in village Hasanpur, Ludhiana.
During the visit, Chairman Sharma, along with his staff, first visited the elderly wards and interacted with the recovered elderly. Gurpreet Singh Mintu, the organization's chief, also showed the Chairman the first video of each elderly person when they were brought to the organization.
After receiving blessings from the elderly, the Chairman also visited the children's wards and inquired about their daily routine. He also interacted with the school children, who were extremely happy during the interaction.
During the conversation, Bal Mukund Sharma said that Gurpreet Singh Mintu is truly a divine soul who has made service his life's mission and, with God's grace, is succeeding day by day. He added that the Food Commission will provide all possible assistance to the residents of “Supneya Da Ghar” including setting up a camp to issue Aadhaar cards for everyone, providing old-age and disability pensions provided by the Punjab government, and providing rations under the Public Distribution System.
Ravinder Kaur, CDBPO, stated that government- provide food for children under six years of age and lactating or pregnant women will also be ensured.
Gurpreet Singh Mintu also informed the Chairman about a pending file for a water tank in Chandigarh, which Chairman Sharma assured would be approved soon.
Finally, the team of humanitarian workers,and Gurpreet Singh Mintu honoured chairman Sharma and his team with momento.
