Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela 2026 continues to witness massive crowds

Khanna (Ludhiana), March 2, 2026: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Sunday stated that Melas are considered the soul of Punjab as these events perfectly encapsulate the vibrant spirit of Punjabi culture.
In his address on the 9th day of Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela, Sond added that these events are not just commercial events, but social gatherings that bring together music, dance, food, and tradition, allowing people to connect with their heritage. He also spoke that the sacred soil of Punjab has always propagated harmony, brotherhood, and love. He encouraged people to rescue the young generation from drugs, violence, and negativity, and channelize their unbounded energy towards nation-building.
Sond emphasized that these fairs go far beyond cultural celebration as they are actively generating new employment opportunities and providing sustainable livelihoods. He pointed out that women entrepreneurs previously faced significant hurdles in marketing and reaching customers, but the Punjab government is now fully supporting them with free stalls, dedicated promotion, excellent on-ground arrangements, and direct access to buyers.
The Cabinet Minister also described the Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela as a significant milestone in awakening women to their rights, fostering self-reliance, and promoting social respect.
Meanwhile, Punjab Sakhi Shakti Mela continues to witness a record-breaking crowd on its ninth day. A special star night was organized where renowned Punjabi singer R. Nait captivated the audience with his spectacular performance.
