Punjab Police Head Constable booked after road accident

Ferozepur, January 1, 2014: Enraged mob held a protest against the police demanding registration of a case against the erring Punjab Police Head Constable. One person was killed whereas his accomplice was seriously injured when the bike on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding car being driven by a Punjab Police Head Constable on the New Year’s eve yesterday.
The deceased has been identified as Rupinder Singh belonging to Village Doomniwala. The injured has been identified as Dev Luthra.
Sources said that the two youths were going back to their village when the Maruti Swift car allegedly hit them near the railway over-bridge which had gained notoriety for frequent accidents due to its flawed design of construction.
The injured Dev Luthra was a student of Delhi University who had come here to celebrate New Year with his family.
