Punjab News/SAS Nagar Municipal Corporation launches smart phone app for citizens

SAS Nagar, December 4, 2013: SAS Nagar Municipal Corporation today announced the launch of a smart phone app for citizens of the city called MC CRAMAT (Municipal Corporation Citizens' Reporting and Mapping Tool). This app can be installed free of cost on any android based smart phone by downloading it from Internet. By using this app citizens can send pictures and exact locations of any problems anywhere in the city like non functional street lights, potholes in the road, illegal garbage dumping and temporary encroachments etc and thus help the administration in maintenance and upkeep of the city.
The application will allow MC to harness the power of technologies that are available in today's smart phones like  digital cameras,  Global Positioning System, Google Maps and wireless Internet which have all been put together in this app.  Citizens can easily  inform MC about a problem with details including photos, accurate location on the maps and time in just a couple of clicks. They  can also select the category of complaint from   different categories and can also type a brief description of the problem. The app then automatically uploads the complaint to MC server via internet and the citizen gets an instant email and sms with complaint number. The application automatically keeps complainant informed via sms and email by sending updates when the MC assigns the complaint to an attendant and again when the work gets done.
The categories under which the complaints can be filed are as under Street Lights, Water Supply Or Sewage, Roads, Sanitation, Tehbazari, Temporary Encroachments, Horticulture, Others.
How to Download & Install MC CRAMAT App
The application is available for download on Google Play Store.
1)    Open Play Store in your phone and search for “MC CRAMAT”.
2)    Click Install button to install it on the android tab or phone.
How to Use
Once the app is successfully installed. Start the app and register yourself by entering your email id, cell phone number and password. You need to do this step only the first time. Once registered, login using your email id and password. Once logged in you can start sending complaints.
To send complaint
1)    Click “New” Icon (Camera Starts)
2)    Click red Camera Icon to capture picture.
3)    Select Category of the complaint
4)    Add a brief description if required.
5)    Final Submit
Rectification
1)    The complaint will reach the portal of MC.
2)    The authorised person will assign the complaint to concerned officials.
3)    Concerned Officials will take action and report back.
