Bathinda, November 23, 2013:  Deputy Chief Minister Punjab and President Shiromani Akali Dal, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the Vidhan Sabha election results of five states in the country would be a clear message of the complete deracination of the Congress Party from the national political scene.
Talking to newsmen after holding the sangat darshans in district Bathinda accompanied by Member Parliament Harsimrat Kaur Badal , Badal said that it would be for the first time in India’s history that the congress party would get less than 100 seats in the coming general elections. The ruling SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab will win all the thirteen Parliament seats as the people have witnessed the unprecedented development in the state in the past seven years. Holding Congress led UPA government responsible of ruining the country completely; Badal said that due to the wrong economic policies of the dishonest congress government have brought the economy of India at the lowest. “People are frustrated and lost but they know what exactly they need to do now to save the nation, they are going to throw the corrupt government out by giving them a rock-hard defeat”, said Badal.
Badal also said that the inauguration of the 660MW Talwandi Sabo Thermal Power Plant on Monday, would give a fillip to Punjab’s economy besides making it power surplus.   This power plant project will be the first of its kind hi-tech and non-polluting plant in the state of Punjab and will probably be the greenest power plant in the country. All the 1980 MW power generated at TSPL will be supplied to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL)", he added.
Referring to the ongoing development works in district Bathinda, Badal said the officers concerned have been directed to complete the development works within a stipulated time frame. He also said that the sewerage systems, water supply and widening and remodeling of roads and streets of Maur Mandi and Maur Kalan would be taken up on priority.
Replying to a query on the much talked about drug smuggling case in Punjab, Badal reiterated that the Punjab police have been given clear cut instructions to nab the culprits, how so ever well connected he may be, and deal such cases firmly initiating legal action against them.
Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Irrigation Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon, DC Kamal Kishor Yadav, SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
