Bathinda, December 18, 2013: Deputy Chief Minister Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the state government was heading towards a major revolution in the field of Industry generating more job avenues for the unemployed youth was among the top priorities of the SAD-BJP government in Punjab.
While addressing a Sangat Darshan at Kotshamir after inaugurating Mini Zoo, Badal accompanied by Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Member Parliament said that the Punjab government has come out with an extensive plan to develop industry in the state in a big way. The recently concluded Progressive Punjab Investors’ meet was a living example where large number of top business tycoons from India and Abroad turned up and expressed keen desire to invest in Punjab. About 117 MoUs worth Rs. 65,000 crore were also signed on the occasion.
Referring to the setting up of IT Hub at Mohali, Badal said that in the coming two years the entire face of the state would be changed and Mohali would soon become a hub "like Bangalore and Hyderabad". With this, the service sector including hospitality and education will also get a big boost, he added. Various job avenues would be generated and about 1 lakh youth would get employment. He also said that internationally acclaimed Cargill Company is setting up its Maize Processing Unit in Bathinda which would boost the industrial growth in Punjab, said Badal.      
Replying to a query on Modi Wave in the nation, Badal said that the days are not too far off when the people of India witness a massive change in the political scenario with NDA coming into power with absolute majority. “Modi Charisma is prevailing all over”, said Mr. Badal. People have made up their minds to throw the most corrupt Congress led UPA government and elect Narender Modi as the Prime Minister of India. “Nation needs a farsighted and seasoned leader with a vision to take the country ahead.
Referring to the undue delay in the inauguration of Bhisiana domestic airport at Bathinda, Badal said that the MP from the constituency Harsimrat Kaur Badal was in constant touch with the Ministry of Civil Aviation but the union government was deliberately delaying the key projects in Punjab. Talking about the newly passed Lok Pal Bill by the Parliament to eradicate corruption, Mr. Badal strongly impressed upon for the administrative reforms in the whole country on the lines of Punjab Right to Service Act. He said that passing the Lok Pal bill would not be enough to curb the corruption, “but we have to make sure the minimum physical interaction between the common man and officials through administrative reforms”, said Badal.
During the sangat darshan art Kot Shamir, The deputy Chief Minister has also announced Rs. 7 crore for the construction of inner streets besides to provide drinking water. He also directed the officials to complete the whole project in next two months.
