Chandigarh, November 29, 2013: Punjab Government has decided to launch new Atta Dal Scheme from for about 30 lakh Blue Card Holders December 1 in the state and Beneficiaries would be distributed wheat at Rs one per kg and Pulses at Rs 20 per kg.

Disclosing this here today official spokesperson of the government said that Punjab Government has winded the ambit of the present Atta Dal Scheme which would be implemented in two phases. He said that all present beneficiaries’ families including BPL and AAY (Antodiya) ration card holders would be eligible for this scheme. 

He said that Punjab Government has decided to double the number of BPL card holders for which selection survey has been launched. He added that to empower women in the society women would be nominated as head of the family in the new blue cards.

He informed that families having annual income less than Rs 60,000 and land less than 2.5 acres and all 100 yard plot holders in the urban areas would be eligible to new blue cards and avail the benefits of new Atta Dal scheme. He further said that pensioners receiving annual pension less than Rs 60,000 would also be eligible for Blue Cards. He clarified that beneficiaries would submit a self attested statement that they are not paying any type of tax to the government.

Elaborating further said that forms for New Atta Dal Scheme would be verified from 16th to 30thDecember, 2013 and list of all eligible beneficiaries would be notified on 31 December, 2013. He said that objections would be accepted from 1st to 10th January, 2014 and be disposed from 13th to 20th January. Final list would be released by 24th January by the concerning authority. The Spokesperson said that process for screening new beneficiaries has begun and anyone who wants to benefit from this scheme should submit their applications in a prescribed Performa.
