Punjab Health Minister Surjeet Kumar Jayani during a meeting with representatives of all the unions of the health department at Chandigargh on Wednesday.

Chandigarh/Mohali, December 18, 2013: All genuine pending demands of the Health Department employees and officers would be fulfilled and instructions regarding this have been issued to the senior officials of the health department by the Punjab Health Minister Surjeet Kumar Jayani during a meeting with representatives of all the unions of the health department.
Minister called upon all the employees and officers of the Health Department to focus on providing quality treatment and service to the poor people of the state to make Punjab Number one in health services. He said that government hospitals should be properly maintained and behavior of employees and doctors should be polite with the patients.
Surjit Kumar Jayani Health Minister Punjab today held separate meetings with all the unions of the employees and officers of the health department at the head office in the presence of senior officials of the department.  
Jayani said that health department has taken this initiative to call all the unions for the table talk to redress grievances and put an end to all the demonstrations by Unions due to which patients and common people had to suffer a lot.  He added that he has given an open invitation to all the employees to come forward for table talks with their genuine demands instead of demonstrations. He also assured that all genuine demands would be addressed without any delay.
All the union representatives termed this step as an historic step for inviting all unions for table talks and expressed satisfaction for a patience hearing by the senior officers and the Health Minister. They also thanked Health Minister for hearing and fulfilling their long lasting demands.
