Punjab News/ State Vigilance Bureau nabs PUNSUP inspector red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 15,000

Chandigarh, November 27, 2013: State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed PUNSUP inspector red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 15,000.

Disclosing this here today Sursh Arora, Chief Director-cum-DGP Vigilance Bureau Punjab said that Bureau has caught Dharm Chand Inspector PUNSUP posted at Gurdaspur demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 15,000 from complainant Parwinder Singh Commission Agent owner M/S Arjan Trading Company at Focal Point Village Shehzada in Gurdaspur. He added that the complainant approached the Bureau and alleged that inspector PUNSUP was demanding Rs. 20,000 as a bribe from him for clearing his bills amounting to Rs. 1,25,680 regarding labour and commission charges. After finding the veracity of facts a vigilance team led by Pardeep Kumar, SP Vigilance Bureau Gurdaspur laid a trap and the accused was nabbed red handed accepting Rs. 15,000 in the presence of two government officials as witnesses. The tainted money was recovered from him. In this regard a vigilance case under u/s 7, 13 (1) read with 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Amritsar and further investigation was under progress.
