Punjab News- Social securities department invites applications from deaf & dumb, handicapped and blind students for scholarship

Chandigarh, September 27, 2013: Punjab Social Securities and Child Development Department has invited applications from deaf & dumb, handicapped and blind students for scholarship. Disclosing this here today official spokesperson of the Department said that interested should send filled forms to the head office of the Social Securities Department by 17 December, 2013.

Spokesperson said that Government provides scholarship Rs 200 per month to the handicapped students from 1st to 8th class and Rs 300 per month to the students of 9th class and upper classes.

Spokesperson said that this scholarship is being provided only to those students whose Mother-Father and heir’s annual income is not more that 60 thousands. Punjab Government has reserved Rs 20.20 lakh in the 2013-14 budget for this scheme.

He further said that interested students should collect forms from district Social Security Officer’s office and send filled forms after recommendation from the school, college/training institute to the head office of the social securities department i.e  SCO 102-103, Sector 34A Chandigarh. Applicants should also provide account numbers and details of IFC code number alongwith the application form.
