Jalandhar/Ludhiana, September 15, 2013: Jalandhar City residents experienced rain with thunderstorm and winds in the evening on Sunday.
Several trees were uprooted. Besides, temporary rooftops were blown away in the heavy winds and fell on the roads. As a result, vehicular traffic was interrupted. The weather got pleasant after occurrence of the rain. Roadside hoardings were also damaged.
Commuters were forced to lit headlights of their vehicles in the evening as the city went under cover of darkness all of a sudden.
Power supply was also affected in several city areas in Jalandhar. It was got restored after about three hours.
Almost similar was the situation in Ludhiana. Power supply was also affected in several areas. It was restored after over 30 minutes.
