Chandigarh, September 20, 2013: To further intensify the efforts of state government for the promotion of Maize as alternate crop in a big way besides encouraging the Bee Keeping under the state's ambitious Agriculture diversification program, the Punjab Government has nominated the non official members of the Maize Development Board and Bee Keeping Development and Promotion Board.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said that the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has given nod to appoint these non-official members of the boards constituted under his Chairmanship with Agriculture Minister as Vice Chairman.
As many as ten progressive farmers and three representatives of the Maize processing industry have been nominated as the non-official members of the Maize Development Board. The ten progressive farmers nominated as the Members of this prestigious board includes Surjit Singh Chagar (Hoshiarpur), Lakhwinder Singh (Patiala), Jaswinder Singh (Fatehgarh Sahib), Amarjit Singh (Jalandhar), Paramjit Singh (SBS Nagar), Daljit Singh (Phagwara), Kuldeep Singh (SAS Nagar), Jagtar Singh (Gurdaspur), Joginder Singh Seh (Ludhiana) and Mohinder Singh Bal (Amritsar).
Likewise the representatives of the Maize processing Industry nominated as members of the Board included: Bhavdeep Singh Sidhaana (Phagwara), Satnam Singh Tiwaana (Fatehgarh Sahib) and KK Sahi (Ludhiana).
Besides, the state government has also nominated the ten progressive Bee keepers as the members of the newly constituted Bee Keeping Development and Promotion Board. The state government has prepared a list of 21 progressive Bee Keepers out of which ten would be appointed as members of the Board in rotation for a term of one year so as to given due representation to every district. These 21 progressive Bee Keepers included: Sadhu Singh (Amritsar), Ranjit Singh (Tarn Taran), Karnail Singh (Hoshiarpur), Gurdial Singh (Gurdaspur), Swaran Singh Chandi (Kapurthala), Pritam Singh (Jalandhar), Ashwani Kumar (Rupnagar), Mahinder Singh (SBS Nagar), Barinder Pal Singh (Ludhiana), Gurbax Singh (Moga), Bhupinder Singh (Patiala), Harjinder Singh (SAS Nagar), Purshottam Dass (Fatehgarh Sahib), Suchet Singh (Sangrur), Dharminder Singh (Barnala), Gurcharan Singh (Bathinda), Gurdeep Singh (Mansa), Pardeep Singh (Sri Muktsar Sahib, Simarjeet Singh (Faridkot), Baljeet Singh (Fazilka) and Joga Singh (Ferozepur).
Meanwhile, Gobinder Singh (Ludhiana), Jagjit Singh of Kashmir Aperies, Doraha (Ludhiana) and Shakti Impex Limited village Bhogiwal (Sangrur) have been nominated as representatives of Honey Processors and Exporters in the Board.
